de-boning chicken

Skinless chicken breasts is the most expensive chicken cut.  Buying the split chicken breasts may be a third of the price of skinless, boneless chicken breasts.  I oftentimes buy the family pack of split chicken breasts on sale and spend about half an hour prepping the chicken.  When de-skinning and de-boning split chicken breasts, nothing is wasted.  The bones are used for stock and the skin is saved in a freezer bag.  When there is sufficient chicken skin, season the skins with a dry rub and grill them on the BBQ.  They are delicious!

Tips on de-skinning and de-boning split chicken breasts.

Split chicken breasts are the breasts of the chicken that have been split down the center.  A sharp de-boning knife is helpful for this task.  See video below on how to de-skin and de-bone split chicken breasts.
